These nine features were absent from the original iPhone.

Since Steve Jobs launched the first iPhone, it has been almost 16 years. The iPhone lacked key functions that we now take for granted, while being noticeably more advanced than any other smartphone available at the time.

Nine hardware and software characteristics that the first iPhone lacked at the time it was unveiled in January 2007 are listed below.
Copy & Paste: It might be difficult to imagine, but the iPhone did not get text copy and paste functionality until 2009.

Selfies are now commonplace, but the original iPhone lacked a front camera. In actuality, there was no front.
